PRO Mini-Internship Experience


One of the best early professional experiences is an internship that provides a well-rounded hands-on education. The most important element of our internships is the integration of theory with practical application and skills developed in a professional setting.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn how to create relevant mini-work projects to explore new job roles, gain relevant work experience and lay the foundation for future job opportunities. Most importantly, mini-internships will provide students with the soft skills needed to be successful in the workplace and in future leadership positions.

Medical / Health Sciences: Explores the rich tapestry of global cultures tailored for students seeking a deep dive into the linguistic nuances and cultural intricacies of their chosen destination. Learners will be intensively immersed, both academically and physically, in their host culture. From food delicacies to must-see attractions, you will be exploring a rich history and enjoying the relaxed pace of life. This excursion is your gateway to an unforgettable summer abroad.

Sports & Entertainment: Explore the world's most pressing environmental challenges through a dynamic, local lens and the ways they are managing or overcoming the associated challenges. From agriculture and habitat degradation to wildlife conservation, students explore the fine line between conservation, preservation, and the economic needs of a community.

Business Management: Compares education across communities and countries, placing specific focus on access to education, the impact of education on the community and economic opportunity, and the ways that education is being diversified based on local dynamics.

How the Application Process Works


  1. Apply Online – Fill out the straightforward application form below.
  2. Review – We will review your application right away and if there is a good fit for our programs, then you will be invited for a phone interview (Google Meet interview for international candidates).
  3. Interview – Plan on doing this within a week after applying.  The interview lasts 20-30 minutes and helps us assess career goals, your interest in the country of choice, and suitability for the program. Have your list of questions ready!
  4. Interview Results – Within 2-3 business days after your initial interview, you will receive notification of your application results BY EMAIL. If you are successful, you will receive an acceptance letter, which will formally invite you to our program and detail the next steps on how to confirm your spot.
  5. Confirmation – Because spots are limited for our international programs, we ask that accepted applicants confirm their spot in our program by paying a non-refundable deposit of $250 USD within one week of receiving the letter of acceptance. The full program payment will be due 60 days prior to departure.
  6. Pre-Departure Orientation – Once we receive the deposit, you will have formally secured a spot in our international program. We welcome you by providing an extensive Pre-Departure Information Packet that includes all the information you will need.

This Experience is a professional development, English language and cultural excursion experience. In their listening and speaking classes, the BU students familiarize themselves with other cultures and important U.S. topics in the medical field. In their English classes, students study medical related specialized terminology. Lastly, students will experience local medical facilities, the Center for Disease (CDC), professional sports teams’ rehab facilities, and special lectures from hospital executives, researchers, physicians, nurses and physical therapists.
